The iRead section is a digital library of graded readers that helps students develop their English reading, comprehension, and vocabulary skills through stories adapted to their proficiency level.

In addition to reading digital books, iRead includes interactive activities, progress tracking, and accessibility features that allow students to personalize their reading experience.

How to access iRead?

Log in to the platform.
Select the iRead option from the main menu.
Browse the available book collection.
Review the information for each book before starting to read.

Book Information Available

When selecting a book, you can view:

Title: Name of the reading.
Author: Information about the book's author.
Theme: Main topics covered in the story.
Features - Information such as:
- CEFR level.
- Text type.
- Literary genre.
- Word count.
- Number of pages.
- Number of activities.
- Audio duration.
- Publication year.
Synopsis: A brief description of the story that helps readers understand its content before reading.

How to Start a Reading Activity?

Select the desired book.
Click Read.
The digital reader will open.
Use the side menu to navigate through the book’s content.

Reading Structure

Books are organized into different sections:

Before You Read: Pre-reading activities designed to prepare students for the text.

These may include:

Vocabulary
Writing
Reading preparation

Objective: Activate prior knowledge and familiarize students with the vocabulary they will encounter during the reading.

Chapters: These correspond to the chapters of the book. Each chapter may include:

Main reading
Vocabulary activities
Comprehension activities
Grammar
Interactive exercises

After You Read:
Post-reading activities completed after finishing the reading.

Objective: To assess reading comprehension and reinforce the learning acquired.

Read with Practice: This option combines reading with interactive activities to reinforce comprehension and learning of the content.

These features support reading comprehension, text analysis, and the completion of activities in a more dynamic way.

When the Read with Practice option is activated, students can view simultaneously:

The reading text.
The story audio.
Comprehension activities.
Vocabulary questions.
Content analysis exercises.

This allows students to immediately apply what they have learned while reading.

Reading Audio: Many books include audio narration.

How to use it?

Open the desired chapter.
Locate the audio player at the top of the reading.
Press Play to start the narration.
Follow along with the text while listening to the audio.

How to complete activities?

Select an activity from the side menu.
Read the instructions carefully.
Complete the interactive exercises.
Use the available buttons:
1. Clear to reset your answers.
2. Try Again to attempt the activity once more.
3. Submit to send your answers.
Review your results once you have finished.

Annotation Tools (Tools)

The Tools option allows you to interact directly with the text or activities.

These tools can be used to support reading comprehension and help organize ideas while reading.

Icon	Description
	Redo: If you accidentally undid a highlight, underline, or note, you can use Redo to apply it again.
	Hide: Helps clear the text view so readers can focus on the original content without visual distractions.
	Undo: Removes actions such as underlines, highlights, or notes that were added accidentally or are no longer needed.
	Notes: Allows users to add personalized comments in the margins or within specific sections of the book. This feature is useful for writing explanations, adding examples, recording ideas, or setting reminders related to the content.
	Delete: Removes specific annotations or markings without affecting the rest of the content.
	Highlight: Helps distinguish important sections of the content using bright colors, improving the visual organization of the text and enhancing information retention.
	Underline: Allows students to mark important words or phrases within the text, making them easier to identify and review later. It is ideal for highlighting key vocabulary or specific grammatical structures.

Accessibility and Personalization Options

iRead includes tools that support reading according to each student's individual needs and preferences.

A typeface specifically designed to support people with reading difficulties or dyslexia by making letters easier to distinguish and recognize.

Book Progress

Students can track their reading progress. Available Information:

Text: Shows the amount of content that has been read.
Activities: Indicates the number of completed activities.
Progress Bars: Provide a visual representation of progress within the book.

How to check reading progress?

Open the book.
Click the progress icon.
Review the available information:
1. Completed readings.
2. Submitted activities.
3. Percentage of progress.
Continue reading or completing activities to increase your progress.

For an optimal experience when navigating, viewing, and interacting with the content, the use of an iPad is recommended.

Activities can also be completed on other compatible tablets; however, the experience may vary depending on the device specifications, operating system version, screen size, and web browser used.
